Manchester United are being linked with a future swoop to sign Barcelona and Spain international midfielder Andres Iniesta.
Reports claim the 29-year-old has become disillusioned at the Camp Nou following the departure of Pep Guardiola and then the sacking of physio Emili Ricart. As a result Iniesta has failed to agree to a new contract at Barca and will therefore be a free agent in the summer of 2015.
United could make a move for his signature in January as Barca will not want to leave his future uncertain going into next summer because they might have to reduce their asking price to avoid losing him for nothing the following year.
Red Devils' boss David Moyes, who tried and failed to sign Iniesta's Barca team-mate Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara - who subsequently joined Bayern Munich - in the summer, is desperate to bolster his midfield options in January.
And it appears he is hoping it will be third time lucky with a move for Iniesta in the New Year.
