Manchester United made a summer move for Netherlands playmaker Wesley Sneijder, according to Galatasaray.
Sneijder was a target for former manager Sir Alex Ferguson and it would seem as if his successor David Moyes is also a fan of the midfield schemer.
Galatasaray sporting director Bulent Tulun has claimed that the Premier League champions made an enquiry in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, but the Turkish giants had no intention of allowing Sneijder to leave.
Tulun told Milliyet: "Sneijder received an indirect offer from Manchester United two weeks ago but it was not accepted.
"There are several clubs that want him but just like we can't let go of Burak (Yilmaz), we also have to keep hold of Sneijder."
