Manchester United have described as 'laughable' reports suggesting Real Madrid are ready to bid £60m for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The ongoing saga regarding the Portuguese star has taken another twist late on Friday after reports in Spain claimed that Real were ready to launch a £60million bid in an attempt to wrap up a deal.

However, United have once again insisted that Ronaldo is not for sale and say the reports are 'utter rubbish'.

A club spokesman said: "It is utter nonsense and totally laughable. Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale."
