Manchester United's European scout Martin Ferguson watched a couple of Rayo Vallecano starlets a day after checking on Real Madrid.
Sir Alex Ferguson's brother was in the Spanish capital on Sunday to see United's Champions League opponents Real overcome an early red card for their keeper to beat Real Sociedad 4-3.
But he stayed on to watch the minor Madrid derby on Monday night where Rayo trounced Getafe 3-1 with a wonderful display of attacking football.
Ferguson was one of a dozen scouts from English clubs in the stands to check out Rayo players - who included 20-year-old strikers Lassana Bangoura and Leo Baptistao.
Guinea international Bangoura scored the opening goal with a powerful near post finish while Brazilian Baptistao assisted the final goal of the match, both impressing on the night as Rayo climbed to seventh in La Liga.
Baptistao is probably the more interesting prospect with six goals in 16 starts since his promotion to the first team after an illness and injury-hit start to his career in Spain.
Atletico Madrid were rumoured to be close to signing the ex-Santos youth teammate of Neymar for 6million euros last week but nothing has materialised yet.
Ferguson is expected at the Bernabeu tonight for Madrid's Copa del Rey second leg clash with Celta Vigo while Real coach Jose Mourinho is expected to make his first personal check on United when the Reds face Liverpool on Sunday.
