Porto's Colombian star James Rodriguez was again watched in action by Manchester United scouts on Saturday.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been heavily linked with a swoop for the 21-year-old throughout the course of this current campaign as his brother and club scout, Martin Ferguson, has been out to watch him several times in the Portuguese league.
And, after a scout was again sent to watch Rodriguez's Porto side face Rio Ave at the weekend, speculation of a summer bid has intensified.
The young winger has already been billed as the 'new Carlos Valderrama' and the 'South American Cristiano Ronaldo', while Ferguson will no doubt see him as a replacement for Nani whose future at Old Trafford has been shrouded in doubt for most of this season.
The main issue for the Red Devils could be to try and persuade Porto to drop their massive £36million release clause for Rodriguez, having been initially told he would cost £24million.
