Manchester United's hopes of signing midfielder Arturo Vidal have been hit by the news he has reportedly signed a new deal at Juventus.
The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the January transfer window as David Moyes attempted to bolster his midfield options in addition to the record signing of Juan Mata.
However, Juve managed to keep the former Bayer Leverkusen man, who has scored 27 goals from 83 Serie A appearances since joining in 2011, on board and made it clear that they do not want to lose him in the near future.
It was expected that United would launch a fresh bid to try and lure the Chile international away from Turin in the summer which appears to have spurred Juve into action by handing him a new deal.
Reports claim Vidal has been tied down to the Bianconeri until summer 2018 and has secured a massive wage increase to around £200,000-a-week.
