Nemanja Vidic has not ruled out the possibility of leaving Manchester United to play in Italy's Serie A at some point in the future.
The 31-year-old Serbian central defender has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford at certain points in the past with the likes if Italian Serie A champions Juventus thought to be interested in signing him.
Big spending Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala have also been reported as potential suitors for Vidic, but it appears that Italy would be his destination if he decided to call time on his spell with the Red Devils.
Vidic, who is poised to return from another knee injury lay-off in United's clash with Sunderland this weekend, would not deny the possibility of playing in Serie A having almost made the move in the past.
He told Corriere dello Sport: "My future in Italy? Who knows? In the past I was close to Fiorentina and Parma.
"Juventus and Milan have the quality to compete for Champions League."
In the meantime, Vidic is focused on United's bid to wrestle the Premier League title away from rivals Manchester City this season, but he is not getting carried away by their six-point lead.
He added: "I don't know if Manchester United is the favourite club to win Premier League."
