Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Manchester United

Manchester United move to within three points of the top of the Premiership after a convincing 2-0 win over Blackburn at Ewood Park.

Wes Brown opened the scoring just after the half hour mark when he headed home Wayne Rooney's corner from six yards, there was a hint of controversy about the goal United's Nemanja Vidic appeared to foul Rovers' keeper Jason Brown.

Wayne Rooney was back on top form and his work rate payed off on 65 minutes when he smashed a shot into the top corner from inside the box following some good work down the right-hand side from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rovers developed scarce opportunities and failed to really trouble the dominant champions who could, and probably should, have added to their tally as Carlos Tevez saw a shot come back off the post in the closing stages.
