Boro back on N'Doye trail

Middlesbrough are back on the trail of former target Cheikh N'Doye after scouting him in Angers' 3-0 win over Guingamp on Saturday.

Boro sent a scout to the Stade Jean-Bouin for the mid-table Ligue 1 clash between Angers and Guingamp - where they would have seen N'Doye dominate the midfield for the home side.

Last summer L'Equipe claimed Boro approached Angers over the possibility of a transfer, but nothing really materialised in the end and the 30-year-old remained in France.

The Senegal international will be out of contract in the summer and available on a free transfer, although Boro will face serious competition for his signature.

Newcastle United have previously shown an interest in the player, who was valued at over £7million by his current club not so long ago.
