Middlesbrough look set to follow up the loan signing of Tottenham full-back Kyle Naughton with a swoop for Aberdeen striker Lee Miller.

Boro boss Gordon Strachan has swooped for 21-year-old Naughton, who has made just three appearances for Spurs since joining from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee last July. He will be handed the chance to gain some valuable first-team experience in the remainder of the current Championship season at the Riverside Stadium.

Meanwhile 26-year-old Miller could join Naughton at Boro after his current club Aberdeen accepted an offer from the Teessiders for his services.

The Scotland international has been at the centre of speculation for several months, with his current contract at Pittodrie due to expire at the end of this season.

Strachan decided to make a bid after watching Miller play during last Wednesday's 3-0 win over Hearts. And with the Dons keen to gain a fee for a player who could leave for free in the summer, a deal is certain to go through before the 5pm deadline.
