Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate still wants to add to his squad this summer but admits no arrivals are imminent.
The Riverside chief has already added Marvin Emnes and Didier Digard but the likes of George Boateng, Fabio Rochemback, Dong-Gook Lee and Mark Schwarzer have all moved on since the end of last season.
And with a move for Reading midfielder seemingly no nearer, Boro fans are facing an anxious wait.
Southgate said: "We're still monitoring a couple of situations, we're not looking to lose players but looking to strengthen a little but more."
