Middlesbrough are said to be one of a number of clubs interested in taking West Brom schemer Zoltan Gera away from the Hawthorns.
Baggies boss Tony Mowbray is desperate to keep the Hungarian at the newly promoted club but he is out of contract and available to move on a free transfer and has yet to decide on his future.
"My team-mates, the management and the fans want me to stay and it makes me feel good but at the moment I don't know how to continue.
"Now I'll have some free time to think about my future. I have to think not only about myself but also about my family. I must see what's the best for them."
Boro boss Gareth Southgate has two midfielders and a striker at the top of his summer shopping list and if he could pick up a player like Gera for nothing that would be a fantastic start to his summer strengthening. But he faces plenty of competition for the Hungarian international.
