Chelsea have completed the free transfer signing of Middlesbrough keeper Ross Turnbull, who signs a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old ran out of contract at the Riverside this summer having battled it out with Brad Jones to be Boro's number one for much of last season, having had previous loan spells at Darlington, Barnsley, Bradford, Crewe and Cardiff.

Turnbull, who made his debut for Boro in May 2006, will now join the FA Cup winners to, along with Portuguese goalkeeper Hilario, act as cover for Blues first-choice Petr Cech.
