Roberto Mancini says Manchester City new boy Adam Johnson has 'fantastic potential' after signing him for an undisclosed fee from Boro.
The 22-year-old former England Under-21 winger signed a contract until June 2014 after agreeing terms and passing a medical ahead of Monday's 5pm transfer deadline. Johnson, who has played 96 times for Middlesbrough and scored 12 goals this season, will wear the No 11 jersey at Eastlands and will go straight into Mancini's squad against Hull on Saturday.
On the deal, Mancini told the club's website: "We are delighted that Adam has chosen to come here. He is a very good player with fantastic potential, and as a club we are always keen to sign British talent."
