Defender delighted with Boro backing

MiddlesbroJustin Hoyte has paid tribute to Middlesbrough's fans for their backing despite the club's recent poor form.

Hoyte joined Boro for £3million from Arsenal in August and the defender admits to being impressed by the backing his new side receive throughout games at the Riverside - even if things are not going well.

"We thank the fans for getting behind us and being with us right until the end," the 23-year-old told BBC Tees.

"The fans really push us forward and cheer us to the end."

Hoyte also admitted Boro's problems this season have come up front as he insists they are wasting too many chances to put the ball in the back of the net.

"we're creating all the chances and playing fantastic football but not scoring the final goal," he added. "It's unfortunate, as we're conceding goals at the other end, but at least we're creating chances."
