Injury blow for Boro

MiddlesbroMiddlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has been handed an injury blow with the news that Mohamed Shawky could be out for three weeks.

The Boro midfielder has picked up a groin problem whilst playing for Egypt in a World Cup qualifier and he is likely to be out for two or three weeks at least.

It is a blow to Southgate as Shawky has featured in all four of Boro's games this term and has impressed the boss with his efforts.

Shawkey picked up a groin problem and was forced to withdraw from the match against DR Congo and now looks set to be out until October.

Southgate will now be keeping an anxious eye on all his other international players in the hope that none of the others pick up any similar problems.
