Middlesbrough have landed Colchester United winger Mark Yeates and he is looking forwards to mounting a promotion challenge.
The Irish winger has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Boro after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical and he has set his sights on helping Boro make an immediate return to the top flight.
The 24-year-old Dubliner told the Boro website: "This is massive for me. There was interest from other clubs, but there was only one thing on my mind once my agent told me Middlesbrough had been in touch.
"This club belongs in the Premier League, the fans deserve to be there and I can't wait to play in front of them.
"It's a Premier club in my mind - all you have to do is look around the facilities, the training ground, the stadium, everything is spot-on.
"I promise the fans I'll give 110 per cent. I'm hungry to prove that I deserve to be here."
Meanwhile Gareth Southgate has denied he has offered Everton's Phil Neville a coaching role at the club as had been reported in some areas.
