MK Dons forward Patrick Bamford has won the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for October.

The on-loan Chelsea youngster scored four goals in his side's five league matches during the month.

Dons boss Karl Robinson hailed Bamford's hard work during his loan spell with the club. He told the club's official website: "Patrick Bamford has worked tremendously hard this season, both on and off the pitch, to improve as an all-round player.

"I think we are seeing the fruits of his labour. Patrick is a talented footballer and a joy to work with.

"He is a natural goal-scorer who complements the style of football we play. Last month Patrick scored some excellent goals, and I think he fully deserves this award."
