MK Dons have announced that Jon Otsemobor has left the club by mutual consent.
The decision was made when the 30-year-old defender had a meeting with Dons boss Karl Robinson after returning from a short loan spell with Sky Bet League One rivals Tranmere, which came to an end on Monday.
Otsemobor made 53 appearances for the club after joining in the summer of 2012 following spells at Rotherham, Crewe, Norwich, Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday, but had not featured since the end of October during the current campaign.
The former Liverpool trainee told the club's website: "I am disappointed to be leaving because, despite having been with a few teams in my career, MK Dons is one of the only clubs I've thoroughly enjoyed being at.
"There are some great lads here, the training is different and enjoyable and the fans have been brilliant too."
Robinson added: "I'd like to publicly thank Jon for his efforts and endeavours while at the football club.
"We can't afford to carry three right-backs and we've got Lee and George who are younger, fresher and part of the long-term development of the club. The future lies with those two and Semy understands that."
