Bentley targets Williams deal

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley will once again try to bring Ryan Williams to the Globe Arena this month.

A deal to secure the services of the former Chester and Rhyl midfielder following a successful trial spell was agreed in October only for international clearance issues to scupper the move.

Bentley does not expect to do any further business during the transfer window, despite the end of striker Richard Brodie's loan spell from Crawley and Jordan Mustoe's return to Wigan after the full-back suffered a groin injury.

"The only activity we might be doing is we're hoping to get Ryan Williams tied up," the Shrimps boss told the Morecambe Visitor.

"He just wants the opportunity. He was with us for three months and didn't get a bean off the club and just wants to come back and have that platform to try and express himself.

"It's a gamble but he might come in and impress and become one of our regulars in time."
