Richard Brodie has returned to Crawley following the conclusion of his loan spell at Morecambe.

The former York striker made his final appearance for the Shrimps on New Year's Day against Bradford, coming on as a second-half substitute for Jordan Burrow.

In 17 starts and 10 substitute appearances across all competitions for Jim Bentley's side, Brodie scored six goals.

"Brodes will go back," Bentley told the Morecambe Visitor.

"I'd like to thank him for what he's done. He's really worked hard and I think he's improved. He's a great lad.

"It's a difficult situation, he likes it up north and is working hard to try and impress to get a contract and perhaps he's tried too hard at times."
