Morecambe forward Kevin Ellison shunned advances from other clubs before committing to a new contract at the Globe Arena.

The well-travelled 34-year-old celebrated his renewed one-year deal by scoring a spectacular long-range volley in Saturday's 3-0 win over Rochdale.

"Younger lads might have gone but I enjoy it here and I'm happy to stay," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"I'm effective and I know what I can do at this level, so I think I've still got a lot to offer."
