Craig Brown will delay talks over his Motherwell future until next month, while John Sutton has called for Brown to be handed the post.

The former Scotland boss led 'Well to a 2-0 victory over St Mirren at the weekend - a result that leaves the club sitting in sixth, just one point behind Hears with a game in hand.

Brown is philosophical about his future at Fir Park, saying: "We haven't spoken about it because there's no transfer window for managers but there is a transfer window for players. So the two discussions we have had with the chairman have been about players and not about ourselves."

Meanwhile, Sutton admits there has been a major change on the training ground and he is hoping Brown will stay on.

The striker told the Glasgow Evening times: "Tactically he has got to the highest level with Scotland and he is very aware of the strengths in the team and is not afraid to go forward and attack teams. I really enjoy playing under them."
