Motherwell boss Craig Brown has admitted his top goalkeeping target John Ruddy is loving life at Fir Park and is hopeful he will stay.

The 23-year-old is on loan with the Well from Everton until the end of the season and has impressed under Brown, conceding just one goal in the seven games under his charge.

Brown has revealed he would love to sign Ruddy on a permanent deal in the summer as the other options he has looked at are not in the same class.

Brown said: "We have looked at other keepers but they're not as good as John.

"He enjoys playing for Motherwell, we have spoken to him and he loves it here. But he's not our player, he is Everton's. If we could keep him it would be great for the club."
