Craig Brown has been told he will remain in charge at Motherwell until the end of the season and could be offered the job permanently.

Brown was brought in as a short-term replacement for Jim Gannon and the Fir Park side are unbeaten in the SPL since he took charge.

The former Scotland manager told the club website that he had held talks with the chairman and was happy to continue with the job.

"We are happy to accept the job and we'll do our best for Motherwell. There is a bit of work to be done but we have the nucleus of a good resource in terms of players."
