Motherwell full-back Steven Hammell has confirmed he has signed a two-year extension to his current contract at Fir Park.

The 28-year-old, who has one senior cap for Scotland, has made over 300 appearances for 'Well and was always keen to secure an extension to his

deal after admitting he was more than happy to stay at the club.

"I just want to continue to keep on doing my best for the club," Hammell told the club's website.

"There's quite a few of the boys out of contract here and hopefully I'll be the first of many to stay on for a while yet.

"We've done fairly well this season so if we can keep the core of the squad together then who knows where we can go."
