Well boss Mark McGhee says there is no interest yet in striker Chris Porter but he expects inquiries to begin soon.

The 24-year-old moved to Motherwell on a free transfer in the summer of 2007 and made it clear that he was hoping to use the SPL as a shop window for an eventual move back to bigger and better things in England.

The former Bury star bagged 18 goals in his first season at Fir Park and has netted four times in the league so far this campaign.

Sheffield United have been linked with a swoop for the Wigan-born hit-man, and McGhee is a realist when it comes to the future of the striker.

"If there are suitors out there, we'll speak to the players as and when that happens," he told BBC Sport.

"He came here trying to get himself a move to the bigger time and money in England. That's what he's here for and we are benefiting from that.

"We shouldn't shy away from it, that's the reality. We take the best out of players we can get and, if they move on, then they move on."
