Motherwell midfielder Keith Lasley has signed a new, two-year deal while captain Stephen Craigan is expected to follow suit.

Lasley has seen his career revived at Motherwell in recent weeks following the arrival of Craig Brown and becomes the second player to commit his future to the Steelmen after Steven Hammell a couple of weeks ago.

The 30-year-old was delighted with the development, and said he hopes to end his career with Motherwell

He said: "I am thrilled to get everything sorted out. I have never hidden my desire to play for this club; I love it here.

"Sure, things were hard for the first six months of this season but that has been the only time during my 10 years at this club where I haven't enjoyed coming to work each and every day.

"Hopefully, I'll be able to see out the rest of my professional career here."

Reports suggest skipper Craigan will now follow Lasley and pledge his long-term future to the club.
