Motherwell chairman John Boyle says there are "no deadlines" and the club will not be rushed into appointing a new boss.
'Well's new campaign gets underway sooner than most with their Europa League first round qualifier against Welsh side Llanelli in a fortnight's time, but Boyle insists he will not be rushed into finding a successor to Mark McGhee following his move to Aberdeen.
"There are no deadlines at all," he said. "There is a lot of talking to be done and a lot of interviewing to be done and it will be done in a timely way.
"We are interviewing a wide range of candidates but I'm not going to comment on who we have or haven't spoken to, all that does is cause undue speculation."
Two former international managers - Lawrie Sanchez and Steve Staunton - have both been linked with the post while ex-players Gary McAllister and Luc Nijholt are also said to be among the favourites for the vacancy.
