Cardiff look set to capture Motherwell centre-back Paul Quinn after having a £300,000 bid accepted by Fir Park officials.

The Bluebirds are desperately looking for a new central defender after allowing Roger Johnson to join Birmingham and releasing Darren Purse at the end of last season.

Quinn appears to be their top target, with chairman Peter Ridsdale indicating that they are close to bringing in a new face.

Quinn was left out of Motherwell's team on Saturday as they lost 3-1 to Rhyl in a pre-season match.
