Hatem Ben Arfa believes high-flying Newcastle can secure an unlikely top-four place this season and has hailed the spirit at the club.

The Magpies are sixth in the table but just three points adrift of current fourth-placed Spurs and their chances of grabbing a Champions League place remain intact after a season that has hugely exceeded expectations.

Ben Arfa has been one of the star performers for Alan Pardew's side and he insists they can yet finish in the top four, such is the great team spirit in the dressing room.

"I don't know if it is the best experience of togetherness I have experienced in my career but I can say that all the players feel very good in the dressing room," the winger told the Daily Star.

"The first target is Europe, but then why not the top four? If we can keep winning we will see."

He added: "We don't believe it is easy to win games in this league because every game is difficult. But if we can carry on with this spirit of everybody being together, then why not?"
