Remy Cabella says he has no regrets about joining Newcastle in the summer and insists it was the right move for him.

The 24-year-old midfielder has settled in well at St James' Park after making the move from Montpellier and says he did the right thing when turning down offers from elsewhere.

The Magpies first tried to land the player after Yohan Cabaye moved to Paris Saint-Germain in January, and Cabella is pleased that they came back with another bid.

"It was the best choice for me, the club that I needed," he told France Football. "Everyone here, the club, the staff, the coach, is trusting me. They did their very best to sign me, first in January and then this summer again.

"There were others clubs interested, but I only had Newcastle in my mind."
