Defender Kamil Zayatte is set for talks with Newcastle officials, after the Magpies failed with another bid for Stephen Warnock.The Magpies boss is known to be an admirer of Blackburn star Warnock, but Rovers do not want to sell the former Liverpool man, who handed in a transfer request earlier this summer. Newcastle have reportedly seen a third bid, of around £4million, rejected by Blackburn.
So that leaves the 23-year-old Zayette, who can also play as a defensive midfielder. Newcastle are leading the chase for his signature despite interest from Premier League rivals Everton.
