Duo join striker race

Inter Milan and Tottenham have joined the race to sign Newcastle target Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon in the summer.

The 28-year-old frontman is coming to the end of his current deal in France and is not about to sign another, which means he will be free to leave for nothing in the summer.

Italian giants Inter Milan are the favourites to sign him, but Spurs are also interested, as are the Magpies after Alan Pardew failed with a bid to land him in the January transfer window.

Pardew is expected to make a move again in the summer, but if reports in Italy are to be believed then Inter will win the race to take him to the San Siro.
