Lorient striker Jeremie Aliadiere could be heading back to the Premier League for another stint in England with Newcastle United.
Aliadiere, who previously played for Arsenal and Middlesbrough is being linked with a move to the Magpies by a report in the French newspaper L'Equipe.
The forward is contracted to Lorient until 2015 after returning to his native France last year, but it's understood United boss Alan Pardew is exploring the possibility of bringing him to St James' Park after working with him briefly during a loan spell at West Ham in the 2005-06 campaign.
Pardew is keen to bolster his side's attacking options and is plotting a move for Aliadiere in the new year when the transfer window reopens.
The 29-year-old's debut season with Lorient was restricted by injury, but coach Christian Gourcuff is a fan of the player, who has scored three times already this term.
