Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis has revealed that he could be in line to make the switch to Newcastle 'one day'.
Magpies boss Alan Pardew was keen on adding the France international to his squad over the summer but failed to negotiate a deal.
Gomis has only one year remaining on his current deal and the north east outfit were keen to try and swoop with a cut down price.
However, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed that he would not be forced into allowing the former St-Etienne man leave on the cheap.
The 28-year-old will now have to wait until the January transfer window to see if he is still wanted by the Premier League outfit and he made his intentions clear via Twitter.
Gomis Tweeted: "Sorry is not 4 this year! maybe one day .... i never forgot you."
