Gosling keen to extend Blackpool stay

Newcastle midfielder Dan Gosling says he would be more than happy to extend his loan deal with Blackpool until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old moved to Bloomfield Road on a short-term deal last month in order to get some much-needed game time under his belt after being left out in the cold by Toon boss Alan Pardew.

After his proposed move to Crystal Palace collapsed in the summer Gosling had initially vowed to fight for his place on Tyneside but now appears to be resigned to plying his trade elsewhere.

The former Everton youngster has impressed at Blackpool since making the move to the north-west and he has now revealed that he would be content to stay with the Tangerines until May.

Gosling told the Chronicle: "Of course I'd be interested in staying for the rest of the season.

"If the club want me here and Newcastle agree, then I'll sit down and talk. I just want to keep performing well and keep us high in the table."
