Olympiakos have blasted reports suggesting they are locked in talks with Newcastle striker Michael Owen over a summer switch.
Hull City and Stoke are very keen on the striker but there is also interest from abroad and both Olympiakos and Italian outfit Roma have expressed an interest.
Reports have even claimed that talks have begun with Olympiakos but the Greek outfit have moved quickly to dismiss the speculation and insist they are not pursuing a move.
"This story is far from the truth," An Olympiakos spokesperson told skysports. "No contact has been made with Michael Owen or his agents and we do not intend to have any contact.
"Michael Owen is not one of our targets. We already bought the player we wanted from England and his name is Matt Derbyshire."
