Chris Hughton is delighted with the signing of Leon Best and says the striker will fulfill his potential at Newcastle.
Hughton snapped the striker up from Coventry yesterday in a deal thought to be worth in the region of £500,000 and the Newcastle boss says the player's best days are ahead of him.
Best has impressed for Coventry this season and Hughton says there is even more to come from the player.
"We feel there's a lot more to come from Leon, and that we can bring out the best in him," the boss revealed. "He's 23 and that is a very good age.
"I think what we wanted was different types of strikers. We know we're going into the business end of the season and have to be able to compete on all fronts.
"He's different - he's got a bit of power and a bit of pace. He's a lad that has played in this division and is used to it. More importantly, he's also got lots of potential."
