Newcastle have launched a fresh bid to sign Montpellier midfield star Remy Cabella, according to reports in France.
The Magpies have been chasing the player for some time as they look to finally replace Yohan Cabaye, who left for Paris Saint-Germain in January, but have so far been unable to agree a fee.
Newcastle are thought to have already failed with one bid of £6.5million for the player as Montpellier hold out for double that, so Magpies officials will have to significantly up the ante if they wish to do a deal.
Cabella's call up to the France World Cup squad will not have helped the Newcastle cause of trying to get him for less, and Montpellier are likely to hold out for the full asking price.
Newcastle are also keen to get a deal wrapped up as soon as possible to help ease the blow of another star player leaving as Mathieu Debuchy heads to Arsenal.
