Midfielder made right choice

New Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko believes that joining the Magpies was the best decision he has made.

Newcastle have drafted in several new players during the January transfer window, but it was Sissoko who really hit the ground running with an inch-perfect pass on his debut to set up Papiss Cisse to score against Aston Villa, before he then grabbed a brace in his second game - a 3-2 win over Chelsea.

The 23-year-old has revealed that he feels he is in the perfect league to express his style of play and being given a more forward role by Alan Pardew will benefit him both domestically and on an international stage.

After joining for £1.8million the France international could be another revelation in the north east, following in the footsteps of Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa.

"I could never have imagined making such a good start to my time at Newcastle," said Sissoko.

"At Newcastle, I have been asked to take the game to the opposition. I am playing in a more forward role and I can express myself.

"This is the championship for me. This is the one that fits my style best. The last few weeks at Toulouse were not easy, so when Newcastle offered me the chance to join in January then I did not hesitate."
