Alan Pardew says he is lining up a number of new arrivals who he feels can carry Newcastle forward as he plans to strengthen his squad.
The Toon have performed beyond all expectations this season and are currently in line to qualify for Europe, having not been outside the top six in the Premier League for much of the campaign.
Newcastle's fantastic season has been in a large part down to the shrewd signings Pardew made in the summer, with Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye having been a huge hit on Tyneside.
With the club looking to establish itself as European contenders Pardew says Newcastle fans can expect to see a number of new arrivals at St James' Park, with Erik Pieters, Jan Vertonghen and Douglas having all been linked with the Toon recently.
The Newcastle manager has revealed the club are already sounding out clubs about potential new arrivals and says his target is to bring in players who he feels will move the Toon forward.
"I think it is important now that we bring in the players that are going to take us forward. We have plans to do that," Pardew told the Chronicle.
"There are one or two players that we are actively looking into and finding prices for. We are making sure we don't miss another Demba Ba or a Yohan Cabaye."
