Alan Pardew has targeted a top-10 Premier League finish to go alongside Newcastle's impressive Europa League run this season.

The Magpies are currently in 13th place in the top flight ahead of a trip to relegation-threatened Wigan on Sunday and approach the game fresh from sealing their place in the last eight of the Europa League on Thursday.

They now meet Benfica in the quarter-finals and Toon boss Pardew is hoping they can progress past the Portuguese giants and then seal a top-half finish domestically in what remains of the season.

"With the Europa League campaign, top 10 is probably the best we can hope for," said Pardew.

"It'll be a fantastic season if we did. Say we got to the semi-final of the Europa League and finished 10th, that would be a job well done in my opinion."
