Steven Taylor says he is happy to fight for his future at Newcastle as reports suggest Queens Park Rangers are lining up a bid.
The defender has slipped down the pecking order at St James' Park and his agent claimed last week a move away from the club could be on the cards in January.
Alan Pardew insists that Taylor is still firmly in his plans and now Taylor himself has said he wants to stay with his boyhood club.
"Hopefully soon I will be back in among it. I'll wait to see what happens," he said. "At Newcastle, I have had competition all my career. I thrive on that and it doesn't bother me one bit.
"The manager makes a decision and you have just got to accept that. I need to keep working hard and knuckling down."
Reports on Sunday have claimed that QPR are lining up a bid for Taylor and there is a chance he could decide to move on if a firm bid for his services is lodged.
