Spanish deal complete

NewcastleSpanish striker Xisco completed his move to Newcastle before the transfer window closed in a £5.7million deal.

The 22-year-old was known to be a target for Kevin Keegan, as he looked to bolster his attacking options, and the Magpies boss got his man ahead of the midnight deadline.

Xisco, who was also understood to be a target for Aston Villa, scored 12 goals in 44 appearances for Deportivo La Coruna although he spent much of last season on loan at Spanish second division side UD Vecindario.

The former Spain Under-21 international is a former team-mate of Fabricio Coloccini and has been handed the number 19 shirt by the Magpies - Xisco could make his debut against Hull on September 13.
