Newcastle could face a battle to keep hold of Tim Krul this summer as Tottenham are reported to be lining up a bid.

The Magpies shot-stopper has been in impressive form this campaign and has helped his side remain near the top end of the Premier League table and his form has not gone unnoticed at White Hart Lane.

Current Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel turns 41 in May so Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, who was keen on Krul in January, is keen to find a younger man to step into his shoes and Krul is a target.

The Dutchman's contract is set to expire at the Sports Direct Arena in 2014 and Alan Pardew will want at least £15million if he is to even consider letting the player go.

Meanwhile Newcastle are also locked in talks with Fabricio Coloccini, Danny Simpson and Danny Guthrie in the hope they will sign new deals at St James' Park.
