Newcastle have been boosted by the news Ryan Taylor should be fit when Newcastle return to action against Wolves.
The defender feared he was facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines when he was stretchered of during the recent win over Aston Villa but thankfully the injury was not that serious.
Taylor has been working hard with club physio Dave Henderson and with Newcastle having no game this weekend after being knocked out of the FA Cup, he hopes to be back for the Wolves game.
The former Wigan man has been one of the players of the season for Newcastle and boss Alan Pardew will be delighted to have him back for the run in.
'I've had a few tough days with Hendo but I've come through with no problems so I am hoping to be back in training with the lads on Monday morning," he told the club's website.
'It wasn't anywhere near as bad as first feared, thankfully. I went off and there was a lot of precaution being taken to make sure that I was fine.
'When they took my sock off, the lump that stuck out the side of my leg was quite worrying but after X-rays and scans it has settled down nicely and, touch wood, I'll be fine.'
