Davide Santon has again pledged his future to Newcastle and has ruled out a return to Italy with AC Milan.

Santon has impressed for Newcastle this season despite the club's struggles and rumours were rife during the January transfer window that he could be set for a return to Serie A.

AC Milan were known to be keen but the Magpies managed to fight off their interest and Santon says he could not be happier to stay at Newcastle and play in the best league in the world.

"At the moment this is the only place to play for me," Santon told the Evening Chronicle. "There are not a lot of Italians in the Premier League, just Fabio Borini. The Premier League is better than Serie A and better than La Liga. The fans here are the best.

"Playing at Newcastle has also helped me get back into the Italy squad. My coach in Italy is happy with me and so is Mr Pardew. I will keep giving 100 per cent."
