Newcastle's chances of landing Andre Ayew have been boosted following Marseille's exit from the Champions League.

The Magpies and Liverpool have been heavily linked with a £10million swoop for the Ghana international forward, who looks set to leave Marseille when the transfer window opens.

Having been ruled out of the Champions League knockout stages following their defeat to Napoli on Wednesday, some of the club's top players have been linked with a move away from the Stade Velodrome.

Trying to keep hold of the their key assets looks to be an even tougher challenge, with the club currently sitting 10-points adrift of Ligue 1 frontrunners Paris Saint-Germain.

Ayew, along with team-mate Nicolas N'Koulou, have been highlighted as potential stars to leave Marseille in the next transfer window, with the likes of Monaco, Arsenal, Liverpool, Napoli and the Magpies all believed to be interested.
