Spurs are set to launch an all out £7million bid to lure Chelsea star Eidur Gudjohnsen across the capital this summer.
Spurs boss Martin Jol wants the Icelandic ace to be his major summer signing to bolster his squad ahead of a potential Champions League campaign.
Gudjohnsen had talks about his Stamford Bridge future earlier in the week where he is said to be unhappy at the impending arrival of Michael Ballack from Bayern Munich.
The 27-year-old has been pushed into a midfield role by Jose Mourinho this season and is thought to be less than happy playing in a withdrawn role.
Spurs will offer him the chance to move back into his preferred position in attack with Mido unlikely to be at the club next season.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has promised a cash injection this summer to maintain the progress that has been displayed this season and Gudjohnsen apparently tops a list which is also said to include Wigan star Pascal Chimbonda and Chelsea left back Wayne Bridge who is currently on loan at Fulham.
